Tia A. Smith is an award-winning director, executive producer, and creative visionary known for emotionally rich, culturally resonant storytelling rooted in her ethos: “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” With more than 4,500 hours of Eilm, television, documentaries, and live events to her credit, she has built a global career bridging artistry and execution through her companies talentedSOL Productions and HeirBloom Entertainment. Stepping boldly into her directing era, Tia wrote and directed The Heir, a deeply personal exploration of legacy, faith, and inheritance, while her inspirational short My Prayer Life earned a Telly Award for excellence in directing—underscoring her gift for visually compelling, soul-centered storytelling. Her work and cultural impact have been recognized with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, the Trailblazer Award from African American Women in Cinema, and a Proclamation and Day of Recognition from the City of New York, as she continues creating work that honors truth, sparks conversation, and leaves audiences moved long after the screen goes dark.
