This final evening of the 2016 festival evening explored the path from Harvey Gantt’s desegregating Clemson University to study architecture, to his serving as Mayor of Charlotte, NC. The Hon. Mel Watt, Gantt’s long-time friend and campaign manager, reflects on the Gantt campaigns and his own work as a civil rights attorney and career public servant. And Secretary Anthony Foxx speaks on the mentorship of his co-panelists in his path to appointed office.
